Art Deco 1.57 Carat Mogok Burmese Cabochon Ruby & Diamond Cluster Ring, Circa 1915

1900 - 1920
Description

An utterly mesmeric ring. The cabochon ruby in the centre has everything going for it; natural, unheated, and not only originating from Burma, but from Mogok, the Burmese mine yielding the finest stones. The ruby is secured in platinum setting and surrounded by 18 eight-cut diamonds in rubover settings above a finely pierced coronet gallery. On a slim and tapering 18k yellow gold shank.

Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the ruby shows no indication of heating, and is Burmese (Myanmar) in origin, from Mogok.

Cut – Oval cabochon ruby and eight cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamonds are between F and G.

Clarity – The ruby is eye-clean. The diamonds are VS2 and SI1.

Carat – The ruby is a known 1.57 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.27 carat

Circa – 1915.

Size – Q (UK) or 8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The ruby is 7.95 x 6.46mm. The head of the ring is 11.7 x 9.7mm and sits 5.7mm from the finger.

Metal – 18k yellow gold. The ruby and the diamonds are set in platinum. Tested.
