A very well matched set of 7 early period, oak high back dining chairs, also known as back stools. All dating from the end of C17th to the early C18th.
These solid oak chairs feature a sculpted top rail, panel back. Solid plank seat. Raised on turned and block legs all supported by turned stretchers.
The set of 5 identical chairs and further very similar pair. Possibly, one set was made copying the other, as all are handmade and it is just very small differences, the main details are the same. The slightly darker two are missing the beading around the border of the panel back. All were made within 20 or so years of each other (Late C17th to early C18th).
A quality set of early period chairs, in good condition with good colour, polish and patina. Ready for use.
Dimensions:
These chairs measure approximately 111.5 cm (44'') tall, 46 cm (18'') wide, and 43.5 cm (17'') deep. The seat height measures approximately 46 cm (18'').
