Stunning English Sterling Silver & Tortoise Shell Hand Mirror

Description

A wonderful dressing table / hand mirror made from sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1927 together with the makers mark for the renowned silversmith's Adie Brothers. Below this hallmark on the handle, the silver is also stamped with the retailer's name, J. Bagshaw & Sons / Liverpool.

The back has the most stunning piece of period tortoiseshell with magnificent markings and colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown showcased by a good glossy patina. The mirror back has an exquisite silver pique border followed through to the handle tip.

Excellent condition and measuring 10" in length with the bevelled glass measuring 4 3/4" across.
