1776 Theatrical Print Of A ‘provoked Husband’

Provoked Husband or A Journey to London was a London stage play and this print is an extremely rare image of Act 1 Scene 1 showing Nr Smith and Mrs Yates in the characters of Lord and Lady Townley. The Provoked Husband is a 1728 comedy play by the British writer and actor Colley Cibber, based on a fragment of play written by John Vanbrugh. It is also known by the longer title The Provok''d Husband: or, a Journey to London.
 
It presents mounted in a Hogarth frame. It is dated 1776. There is very minor loss to the top corner gilt beading. Backed in brown paper and corded. The frame has two eye loops on the back threaded with cord to hang it. The actual image measures 18.5 x 16.5
