Unusual late 18th century hand carved fish or mythical sea creature ,c1780. Well carved with good detail to the scales, mouth, tail etc it us clearly hand carved and has a great naļve quality. The fish is mounted on a backing board and hook to enable it to be displayed and is deceptively heavy for its size. Overall condition is good, there a small number of woodworm holes on the backing board (not the fish) but these are long dormant and treated anyway.
