A late 19thc elm and ash Windsor chair c1870. Made in the typical Windsor chair style, it has a hoop spindle back with central carved panel, a hoop waist and arms, a shaped seat and turned legs United by a stretcher for strength. These chairs were bespoke made and this one was probably made for quite a tall slim gentleman who liked to sit well back. The chair is extremely comfortable, strong, with good colour and patina, and is in very good antique condition.

The inner seat measures 36cm deep x 38cm wide within the arms and frame.
