Description

A fine Regency silhouette of a young lady c1820. Set in the original black lacquer frame, within a brass surround, the oval image depicts a young lady of some refinement due to her elaborate hairstyle, jewellery and dress. The lady’s hair, earring and lace and folds of her bodice are highlighted in gilt ink for a very illuminated effect. The back has been opened - it is inscribed Miss Mary Cox. The silhouette is in perfect condition.
