N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This lovely antique double fusee clock has a mahogany case with a fantastic grain and rich colour.
The case then has lovely cross banding to the front and the edges which frames the shapes of the case beautifully. There is then a shaped door to the back of the case with a silk backed, fretwork disk so that the chimes can be heard clearly. Finally there is a moulding to the bottom edge leading to the base which is finished by four gilt brass "lions paw" feet.
The dial is then painted and set out in black Arabic numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The dial then has two intricately shaped hands which set the dial off perfectly. finally the dial is protected by a domed glass set into a shaped, brass bezel.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is a double fusee example of the upmost quality with stunning engraving to the backplate. The movement ticks away and chimes as it should, chiming the number of hours on the hour via a bell. It comes complete with its pendulum and winding key.

19" / 48.25cm Tall.
13" / 33cm Wide.
8.5" / 21.5cm Deep.
