Description

A mid 19th century fine quality figured walnut GAMES COMPENDIUM by the Scarboro based makers Kenneth & Martin.

The box itself is made of finest figured walnut with gilt brass decoration to the top and front. The lid is domed and hinged. The lid opens to reveal the top layer of storage and games pieces. The top layer lifts out to reveal the double-sided folded board underneath. This in turn lifts out to reveal further storage for Bezique cards and additional counters and dice.

The compendium features:

- Chess pieces (bone)

- Backgammon counters (bone)

- Draughts counters (bone)

- Board for Chess/Draughts and Backgammon

- Cribbage

- Dominoes

- Bezique cards

- Dice and two shakers

- Cribbage Scoreboard

- Cribbage pegs
