Staffordshire Saltglaze Stoneware Reticulated Plate Circa 1760

Description

A Staffordshire or Yorkshire saltglaze stoneware lobed plate, circa 1760, of dished form with foliate scrollwork and basketwork moulded in relief, with a central a medallion containing a squared pattern and surrounded by eight scrollwork panels and outer reticulated border of scrolls and basketwork. 

19.5cm diam.

In good condition other than a small rim chip to the underside which is not visible from the front. The front has two firing cracks to the piercing on the same area,
