Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
This reveals that the spoon was a marriage spoon, with the D being the initial for the Surname and E for the husband and C for the wife. The spoons also has the additional benefit of being made by a mid 18th Century female silversmith, Elizabeth Oldfield. A good collector's item, still usable today. Dimensions below.
