Description

A good 19th century bow fronted mahogany marine stick barometer signed J.Bassnett of Liverpool. The moulded cornice having a possibly later brass turned finial above the bowed glass register with bone adjustable vernier scale. The attractive cased thermometer marked in Fahrenheit with the cistern encased in weighted brass cover with decorative carved acanthus above. The barometer has an incomplete gimbal but otherwise in good condition. Dimensions:- Height…37.5’’/ 95cm. Width inc Gimbal…4’’/ 10cm. Depth inc Gimbal…3’’/ 7.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £45.
