Art Deco Sculpture of Swallows

1920 - 1940
Description

Art Deco ceramic gulp of swallows. The three swallows have been decorated with a delicate layer of silver lustre which gives the birds an iridescence and although there has been some wear, it only adds to their appeal.

They are marked, ‘Lejan’. Little is know of this French factory in Orchies, but it appears the name was attributed to the work of a couple of female artists.

In very good condition, with some wear to the silver lustre.
