Minton Parian Group Depicting Naomi and Her Daughters-in-Law ,c.1865

Sublime antique porcelain parian figural group, depicting Naomi with her daughters in law, Ruth and Orpah. The trio is depicted with the older woman, ostensibly Naomi, standing and comforting a daughter in law to either side, incised title to front of base.

Minton porcelain has a long and distinguished history. It was first established in 1793 by Thomas Minton in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Minton's porcelain was known for its high quality and was used by some of the most famous names in the pottery and porcelain world. Minton's porcelain was also used by some of the most famous painters of the time, including J. M. W. Turner and John Constable.

Minton's porcelain was so highly regarded that it was used by royalty, including Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. In fact, Queen Victoria once said that Minton's porcelain was "the finest in the world."

Today, Minton's porcelain is still considered to be some of the best in the world. It is known for its beauty, and ability to survive throughout the ages without yielding to the tribulations of time.
