New Hall Porcelain Teapot of Old Oval Shape,c.1805

Description

This is a hard paste porcelain tea pot and lid by New Hall dating to very early 19th century, George III rd period, circa 1800 / 1805.

The Teapot is well potted with an old oval shape and high loop handle.

The decoration is hand-painted in bold enamels in a flower pattern c and is pattern number 376.

This is a recorded New Hall pattern.

A similar Teapot in the same shape with a different pattern is illustrated on page 112 (plate 667) of the book: An Anthology of British Teapots by Philip Miller & Michael Berthoud published by Micawber Publications.

The base has the pattern number 376 hand painted .

Hairline crack on the cover,small chips on the cover,small chips on the rim,tiny chip on the tip of the spout.Otherwise excellent antique condition.

Excellent preservation of colors, despite the fact that the teapot is more than 215 years old.Please look carefully at the photos - they are part of the description.

Overall a beautifully decorated example of an early English, Georgian Teapot by New Hall!
