Antique Single Fusee Mahogany Library Clock with Bevelled Glass Panels

19th century
Description

Antique Single Fusee Mahogany Library Clock With Bevelled Glass Panels.

This superb antique library clock has a Mahogany case with a fantastically rich colour and grain. The top of the case is then square with a bevelled glass viewing window to the top as well as a shaped moulding to the top edge. The body of the case is then square with a lovely bevelled glass viewing window to each side as well as a flat glass panel to the front and back. Both the front and back door locks also work. There is then a further thin moulding to the base leading to the "belled" out section. There is then a further, final moulding leading to the square base which is then finished by four, thin square feet.

The dial is then silvered and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The corners of the dial are then engraved with intricate, scrolling patterns. The dial is then finished by two lovely shaped hands as well as a protective glass with a lovely metal frame to the inside.

The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away as it should and comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key. The movement is then a single fusee example of the upmost quality!

It measures approximately:

- 9.5" / 24cm Tall.

- 7.25" / 18.5cm Wide.

- 5" / 13cm Deep.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
