Lovely Edwardian Lapel / Buttonhole Posy Holder Chester 1908

A lovely and very rare Edwardian silver Boutonniere posy holder for the purpose of holding flowers in one''s button hole or lapel.  A plain polished silver with protruding frame at the top designed to hold a small floral spray, with a lovely engraved leaf for decoration.  Hallmarks are visible for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1908, Lion Passant indicating sterling silver and the maker''s mark for the silver maker:  Villiers & Jackson.
 
 
 
A delightful and interesting antique, would make a fabulous gift for a discerning dresser!
 
 
 
Condition:  In lovely condition (there is a very small indentation to the silver near the lower end, commensurate with age and mentioned for complete accuracy).
 
 
 
Hallmarks:  Chester 1908 by Villiers & Jackson.
 
 
 
Measurements:  Length: 6.3cm     Width at widest part:  1.3 cm   Depth:  7 mm   Weight:  3.4 grams
