Magnificent Antique English Silver Plated Tray - Registration Mark for 1876

Description

An exceptional and highly desirable large Victorian tray, they type we are always searching for, a very decorative example and standing out from the crowd.

There is an exquisite scalloped edge with beaded trim on the top. The engraving is quite beautiful with floral garlands and other foliate borders.

The tray sits on the original six scroll feet, there is a slight rock if you make it (insignificant but mentioned for accuracy), it is a very solid and heavy example.

The underside is fully marked with all the very desirable hallmarks, the crossed arrows mark for Creswick & Co. of Sheffield and the diamond design registration mark dating it to July 29th 1876.

Excellent condition, measuring 23" x 16", grand in every way.
