N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The case then has a typically gothic style having a triangular, architectural top with a moulding along the top edge. The body of the case is then square with a lovely viewing window to each side, with each window having a nice brass frame. The base of the case is then stepped out and is finished by four, small bun feet to each corner. Both the front and back locks work.
The dial is then silvered and is again in a beautiful, typically gothic shape. The dial is then set out in black Roman numerals with a ring to the outside marking the minutes. The centre of the dial then has a beautiful floral and sun burst style pattern which sets it off wonderfully. Finally the dial is signed by the maker "Thos Cox Savory 47 Cornhill London" and is numbered "715".
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is a single fusee example of the upmost quality and is ticking away as it should. The movement also comes complete with its regulating pendulum, winding key, and travel nut.
