William IV Period Rosewood Sarcophagus Shaped Sewing Box

Description

A good William IV period rosewood sarcophagus shaped SEWING BOX supported on wooden bun feet complete with a wide variety of tools and implements.

The interior has a gilt embossed leather framed silk ruched panel to the lid. High quality gilt tooling, tear free material and the presence of the original pull tab and swing clasp. The panel folds forward to provide access to a 'love-letter' envelope.

Dated: c.1825-35
