Description

A fine late 19thc or early 20thc French spelter figure of a huntsman c1900. The figure is very finely modelled with marvellous detail and traces of the original gilded finish. The young man wears a flat cap and huntsman’s clothing including a belted jacket, shirt, breeches, gaiters and boots. He holds a pipe and has a long shotgun over his shoulder. Made before WW1 struck, he is out for a day’s sport and has a relaxed and striding pose. In great condition, no damage with only some wear on the surface of the stand, all in keeping with age.
