Bronze sculpture depicting a young man, the excavator of excavations in Pompeii. depicting a naked boy, performing a dance of joy, with one leg raised, who emerges victorious from his excavations with a Roman statuette. Its nude pose mirrors that of the statuette itself, possibly indicating that the statue represents the excavator imagining itself in the pose of the original statuette.
