Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The tape itself is 40 feet in length and is printed with both imperial measurements and chains/poles to the reverse. It was sold at Christies Auction house in 2010 and the original auction ticket gives the provenance that it was the property of the Spencer Family of Althorp - Princess Diana's ancestors. Condition :- Excellent, with no holes or splits. There is a small area of flattening to the edge, commensurate with age and use. The tape is complete and in excellent condition.
