Description

A really beautiful Caucasian Soumac technique rug in worn condition but with no holes. The colours are superb. Two fully green medallions with the sweetest 'abrash' (naturally occurring colour changes) alternate between midnight blue ones, with smaller repeat yellow medallions in columns either side. So much clever use of negative space throughout, just look at the edges of any medallion. Many zoomorphic representations as well as dogs, birds and goats. Teeming with life and charm, this venerable Caucasian rug still has a lot to offer although clearly worn.
