Description

A good quality English George III figured mahogany drop dial wall clock with brass string inlay to the front of the case and brass bezel. The clock has a twelve inch painted dish dial with Roman numerals and has a single fusee movement with anchor escapement.

The dial has the makers name:-

John Moore & Son

Clerkenwell

London

John Moore and sons was established in the early 19th century and were located at 38 and 39 Clerkenwell Close in London. They were turret, musical and clock makers to aristocracy and won medals for their work.

The reverse of the dial has the makers name and also the clocks service history
