Victorian 18ct Opal Solitaire Ring

Description

A wonderful ring from the late Victorian period. The ring is marked on the inside of the shank as 22ct gold, though it appears to test as 18ct. The gold has a very slight rosy hue and this is beautiful against the gemstone. It has a lovely natural opal set in a simple rub over setting. The opal exhibits plenty of colour and the rainbow is beautifully distributed throughout the stone showing speckles of green, blue, red and yellow in all directions. The shank has a lovely, tactile appearance and the ring is excellent quality with an easy-to-wear low profile.

Materials - 18ct Gold (marked as 22), Opal

Age - Late Victorian

Size - The opal measures approx 12mm by 9.5mm

Ring Size - UK N 1/2 US 7 The ring could be resized a little

Condition - Very good. A little wear to the surface of the opal, commensurate with age
