A very fine regulator dating from 1936 in a restrained art deco style. The large precision 8 day movement with Harrison’s maintaining power and a dead beat escapement with six bar wheels, is beautifully made with blued steel screws, the clock even has it’s own original hand cut spanner for undoing the nuts that hold the movement to it’s bracket in the case. This clock is a one off made for a jewellery and watch shop by the proprietor and every detail has been considered down to the hook of the weight and the steel and brass pulley. The observatory dial is silvered with sharp engraving, the blued steel hands are finished with square tails adding a subtle deco element to the dial.The attention to detail extends to the walnut and ebony case, made as an art deco take on a classic Scottish drumhead clock with rebated dust guards and a solid 2 inch thick mahogany back board, the case is in excellent condition.This beautiful clock was made by John Clark, a jeweller and watchmaker from...
