An early Victorian pair of blue overlaid glass decanters c1860. These tall elegant decanters have slice cut necks and bases, and the body is etch cut with sprays of flower heads and leaves, intersected by an oval cut. The stoppers are the original matching pair, also slice cut with ovals. The upper neck and rim are plain blue. The condition is remarkably good for their age with no damage. On the rim of one decanter there is an integral unevenness, a flaw which occurred during manufacture. Also on the base of one decanter, there are some diagonal slice cuts made during manufacture, presumably to make the decanter more stable. Very decorative, antique and in great condition.
Height dimension includes the stopper.
