Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

English Regency porcelain drinkware, produced between approximately 1810 and 1830, is defined by classical shapes, refined hand-painted enamel decoration, and fine gilding. Manufacturers during this period focused on smooth glazes, translucent clay bodies, and narrative or botanical motifs.

Mugs from this period were typically crafted from bone china or soft-paste porcelain, decorated with overglaze enamel pigments applied by hand. Gold leaf was frequently applied and fired to create gilt rims and accent borders.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of period craftsmanship, such as subtle brushwork variations in the enamel, slight firing imperfections, and light surface rubbing to the gilding. The base often shows a ground foot ring, occasional impressed batch marks, or painter reference numbers.

Small decorative ceramics are best styled within a glazed display cabinet, lined on an open bookshelf, or arranged on a sideboard alongside complementary glassware. Grouping pieces with similar tonal hand-painted details creates a curated visual impact.

Clean gently by hand using warm water and a mild, non-abrasive liquid soap with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking, dishwasher use, or abrasive pads, as these will erode overglaze enamels and gold leaf borders.
