Pair Of Antique George III Sterling Silver Butter Shells/dishes - 1795

A pair of antique George III sterling silver butter shells/dishes which are scallop shape in design with fluted bodies, plain handles and resting on three whelk style feet. These silver butter shells have been made to a high standard and have been well cared for over the years. Each dish has a crest at the end of the body.

Length: 14 cms (5.5'')
 
Width: 12.5 cms (5'')
 
Weight: 7.7 troy ounces (239 grams)
 
They were hallmarked in London for 1795 by Henry Chawner and remain in excellent condition.
