A lovely and very rare Edwardian silver Boutonniere vase for the purpose of holding flowers in one''s button hole or top pocket, often known as a ''Tussie Mussie''.   It is a plain polished silver with a bulbous base and tube, in which to place the posy. At the top there is a clip to fit over a pocket or lapel. On the back hallmarks are visible for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1912, Lion Passant indicating sterling silver and the maker''s mark for the silvermaker:  Frederick William Rowe.
