Victorian 7.14 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Pendant, Circa 1900

Description

A magnificent Victorian sapphire pendant. The centre stone – certified as natural, unheated, and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a glowing cornflower blue. The stones is rubover set in milgrained rose gold, and surrounded by eighteen high white and bright old mine cut diamonds set in silver in the surround. The articulated bale is concealed behind a cluster of four rubover set diamonds is yellow gold rubout settings. Immense, magical, and rare.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.

Cut – Oval cut sapphire with old mine cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamonds are G to H.

Clarity – The sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are VS2 to SI1.

Carat – The sapphire is 7.14 carat with a total approximate diamond weight of 1.32 carat.

Circa – 1900.

Measurements – The sapphire is approximately 12.1 x 9.1mm. The cluster is approximately 15.25 x 18.25

Metal – The sapphire is set in 18k rose gold. The diamonds are set in silver. The back of the pendant and the top section is 18k yellow gold. Tested.
