19thc Wedgwood Caneware Game Pie Dish

Description

This 19th Century marked WEDGWOOD CANEWARE GAME PIE DISH, decorated with Grapes and Vine Leaves, has a basket work design handle with Roses and Rose Leaves at either end.

The Dishes were made to resemble a Pie Crust when flour was in short supply during the 19th Century. A simple stew could then be transformed into a fine looking Homemade Pie when taken to the table.

There are chips to the leaves and petals and small nicks to the rim. There are no cracks or restoration.

Width: 8.75 inches (22 cm)

Depth: 6.25 inches (16 cm)
