This Pair of Edwardian leather wingchairs were made circa 1900.
The seat is sprung, so it is firm but gives as you sit down to relax.
They stand on short mahogany cabriole legs with castors under.
Each chair has been recovered in fine raw leather hide before the hand dyeing and final antique finishing processes are applied.
Our experienced upholsterer recovers the frame in the raw leather, using 100’s of brass studs to apply this to the frame. This takes tremendous patience, precision, and skill.
Once the wing chairs are upholstered, they are then ready for our specialist to start the hand dyeing, building colour before sealing and then using a series of time consuming processes to get it ready for the final finish. The chairs are then ready for your home.
They look as if they have the original covers on, but that is down to the skill of these craftspeople. The wing chairs can now again be used by generations before they need restoring again. (although it is doubtful the skills will still be around in many decades in the future)
