This Georgian oak dresser base was made for a large house on a country estate to be used extensively in its kitchen circa 1810.

It is of a larger width than usual. It also has a rare drawer design as the drawers at each end are double depth, although they look to be 2 drawers when looking at the fronts. Each drawer is fitted with period brass oval brass handles, embossed with a fox.

To each side of the end drawers are 2 drawers under the top and a double arch front with a small drawer between the 2 attractive arches.

Under the drawers and arches are the turned front legs and the wonderful pot board at the base.
