This is a fine quality antique Chinese coffee table, constructed of solid hongmu, with a kang / opium scroll design, circa 1900, in excellent original condition. Designed in the style of a kang / opium table, it constructed of solid hongmu, which boast stunning deep dark brown & red colours, with a fantastic patination. This rectangular kang / opium table comprises a solid recessed panel top, within a panel frame, above a shaped frieze, raised on moulded bow shape open panel ends, decorated with a pierced fretwork scroll carvings to the inside of the scroll feet. Ideal for use a decorative coffee table in the living room. This Chinese coffee table is well made, solid in joint and ready to use. This low coffee table boasts a fantastic original colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This table would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially in the living room as a coffee table.
