English Skeleton Clock by E White of Manchester 1860s

Description

Hi

I have for sale a large Victorian English fusee skeleton clock made around the 1860s with the original marble base with ultra-fine six spoke wheel work a really nice original genuine apprentice-built clock not a sixties kit or copy that has just been fully restored so the case is very shiny hence I have tried to capture in my poor photo's and I re-blued all the screws this clock must be seen it is a real piece of art.

The clock bears the maker's name of E White who is Edward White Dent's foreman also marked Manchester on the mint white porcelain dial.

The Case

The case/frame is in solid brass and stands 48cm high 40cm with the e with a depth of 22cm it is in perfect condition standing on a solid white marble base, it is very heavy with thick heavy plates, a top quality old clock.

The Dial

The dial is in good original condition white porcelain with black Roman numerals and signed E White Manchester, the clock also retains its original blued steel hands.

The Movement

The movement is an eight-day time only with passing strike so once on each hour, the movement has been fully restored with a new spring added so keeps a great time over the eight days via the original wood and lead pendulum to the rear and runs via the original fusee chain.

Overall a beautiful English skeleton clock by a quality maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days.

I will not post collection is best or I can arrange hand-to-hand delivery.
