A Gilt Ormolu Rococo Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

A smaller proportioned French gilt bronze mantel clock by Oppenheim of Paris and London. A good quality cast bronze case with gilt ormolu finish in the rococo style. Fretwork side panels with red/pink silk backing. A convex enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and fine gilt hands. A gilt dial bezel surround with convex bevelled glass. A convex glass to the rear door. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed 'Oppenheim Londres Paris. Circa 1890.
