A gorgeous opulent 19th century brooch in 15-carat gold set with faceted almandine garnets in a lovely range of pink-y red tones. The gold is fashioned in a variety of ways, with textured leaves and shining golden balls offering a nice contrast to the gleaming garnets.

Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

The brooch is in excellent antique condition and fastens with a typical C clasp.

Size: Approximately 4.3 x 3.5cm.
