Description

A truly fine example of an 18th century South Staffordshire Bilston Enamel Patch Box. Made circa 1760.

Beautifully made on a rich blue ground and white interior. Motto on hinged cover reads "UNTO THE END I LOVE MY FRIEND". Square in shape with bombe sides.

In excellent condition with no damage to the enamel or the mirror inside the box. Strong hinge, shuts perfectly.

Rare to find in such wonderful condition measuring 1 5/6" x 1" x 1 1/4".
