A Gorgeous Silver & Tortoiseshell Chatelaine Compact

1900 - 1920
Description

A gorgeous small silver compact for a pendant chain or chatelaine. This wonderful example is in the Art Deco taste and has the lid inset with a blonde tortoiseshell panel. The hinged lid opens to reveal a fully gilded interior with a mirror. The compact is fully hallmarked, has a curved and tactile body. A fine and desirable piece of silver from a bygone age.
