Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A glass rinser, also known as a glass cooler, was used in formal 18th and 19th-century dining to rinse wine glasses between courses. Guests would submerge the bowl of the inverted glass in cold water held within the vessel, resting the stem across one of the spouts.

These vessels were typically hand-blown from high-density lead glass or crystal, often featuring hand-cut facets around the base and acid-etched or copper-wheel engraved botanical decoration around the upper rim.

Authentic pieces generally feature one or two pronounced pouring spouts on opposite sides, evidence of a ground or polished pontil mark on the underside, and characteristic hand-engraved motifs such as grapevines or fluted panelling.

Antique glass rinsers serve as versatile decorative accents on bar carts, sideboards, or console tables, functioning effectively as stylish trinket dishes, tea light holders, or individual serving bowls for small garnishes.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild dishwashing liquid, avoiding temperature extremes that cause thermal shock. Do not place historic glassware in a dishwasher or clean with abrasive pads.
