An exceptional top-notch silver plated lidded tankard by the well regarded Elkington, with the E M & Co mark for Elkington & Mason with the letter T inside a diamond shaped lozenge, dating this example to 1858.

Excellent condition, measuring 8" tall to lid and 10" to top of the thumb operated hinge; The base diameter measures 5 1/2". An important and impressive piece.
