Hi
I have for sale an 1880s French striking and repeating carriage clock made in France striking on the gong in the original box with the key.
This is a very heavy clock built to top spec and a must for the best of collections the case has been fully restored around two months ago.
This clock was retailed by Hunt & Roskell of 156 New Bond Street in London.
The Case
The case is in solid shiny brass and stands 17cm high x 9cm wide with a depth of 8cm it is in good original condition with mint thick 5mm beveled sides/front/back door and top viewing glass.
The case is very heavy and shiny and very hard to photograph they do not do the clock justice at all in the gorge style case all in one part.
The Dial
The dial is in original condition in white porcelain in mint condition, with stunning bold Roman numerals, the clock also retains its very fine original black moon hands.
The Movement
The movement is an eight-day time and strike which strikes the hours via a
...small sweet gong to the rear also has the repeater button on top to repeat the last hour strike, the movement has been serviced so keeping a great time over the eight days and has the bonus of a working alarm function
Overall a very beautiful quality carriage clock by a top quality French maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days.
I will ship worldwide and pack very carefully please read my feedback from other clock buyers.
