ANTIQUE #SA965565

A Scottish Late George III Wych Elm Side Chair, Late 18th/early 19th Century

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jeckyll & Co

Elegant example constructed from the rare and rather wonderful wych elm tree, regarded as the only elm native to the UK. In addition it is upholstered in the ''Rolls Royce'' of fabrics, woven horsehair, which, if bought new would cost £500 plus for a single chair.

It would make a smart desk chair.

Height to the seat 44.5cm

Condition wise, the chair is strong and tight, two stretchers are replaced and there is a slight twist to the back, which is pretty typical in my experience.

Reliable transport throughout the UK can be easily arranged at cost price, let me know if you would like a quote.

If you are local to Edinburgh I will deliver.
