C1860-80 Bronze Drum Candleholder

Description

Circa 1860-80 a small gilded bronze candlestick with two cherubs surrounded by balls, bats and rings either side of the drum candle holder. The handle is shaped like a bugle with a rope threaded around it.

One cherub has a ball on his head, and his other hand holds the foot of his friend. On the tray are three rings and a ball on one side, and other the other side are two bats and what appears to be a plate or disc.

It measures 18cm across, 11cm in height, there are four little feet under the tray and it weighs 0.7 kgs.

There are a few marks on the gilding commensurate with age.
