Description

The 19th century Bronze of the young Bacchus.

The God, depicted in childhood, as he sits in animation, clasping an armful of grapes, whilst a bird pecks at a grape.

He sits amongst vine leaves and grapes, over a conforming plinth.

The lower plinth mounted "Filius Bacchi" and the rear of the plinth with a mount "Studio di a Canova, Fonderia Di F. Righetti"

The whole with a very good patination.

Width, 6 inches 15cm

Depth, 4 1/2 inches 11cm
