Delightful & Unusual Victorian Silver Pot Griffin Design Handles

A most delightful sterling silver pot (possible a salt pot).  The design is exquisite, a lovely scalloped bowl sits on one circular foot.  To either side sit two superb, ornate silver Griffins as handles.  The inside of the pot is wonderfully gilded and is a deep golden colour.  On one side of the pot are the very clear and crisp hallmarks for  the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1898, Lion Passant and maker''s mark for the silver-maker: Wakely & Wheeler.
 
 
 
An exceptional pot - fabulous gift for any occasion and in super condition.  It sits nicely sturdy and is a good weight.
