~ French - Circa 1880 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A beautiful, original antique French clock. It is very well made in the Baroque style in gilded bronze. Profusely decorated with elaborate trailing foliage, goddess mask and stylised architectural detail including the fancy broken arch pediment and a large urn to the top. The front and sides have fretted panels to allow a glimpse of the pendulum within the case.

The dial is also gilt bronze with 12 individual enamel cartouches, original blued steel hands and convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just a couple of light marks to the cartouches.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
