Exquisite Spot-hammered Silver Single Sovereign Case by Dennison, Birmingham 1910

1900 - 1920
Description

This delightful George V solid silver single sovereign case was made by the prolific Dennison company. Of circular form, both front and back with spot-hammered decorations, very muhc in the Arts & Craft manner. The front circular reserve vacant. The sprung hinged cover operated by a push button. Opens to reveal a spring loaded compartment.

Suspension loop. Snaps shut beautifully.

All sprung mechanisms in good order.

Hallmarks:

Inner cover fully hallmarked.

Sovereign frames with date letter and Lion Passant.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "l" for 1910.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 3cm / 1.2 inches.

Height: 1.5cm / 0.6 inches
